Jake Tietgens joins the Ephs coaching staff in 2018 and begins his third season as a collegiate assistant coach.
Most recently, Tietgens served as an assistant coach for the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts women’s soccer team and he previously coached one season at his alma mater after graduating from Castleton State University in 2017.
Jake earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching from Castleton State. During his undergraduate years, he gained experience as an athletic training intern in addition developing nutrition and strength and conditioning programs for a wide variety of sports teams.
Tietgens, a native of Stamford, VT and a product of Drury High School, was one of the top players in Western Massachusetts during his senior season earning first team All-Berkshire honors for the Blue Devils. He played club soccer for Berkshire Ajax SC and it was clear his soccer talents would take him to the next level.
Tietgens went on to an impressive collegiate career at Castleton State earning first team All North Atlantic Conference and NSCAA All-New England honors his senior season. His 16 goals in 2016 led the team in scoring and total points and was the highest single season total in the program in 15 seasons. Tietgens scored over 20 career collegiate goals among them 5 game-winners and a four-goal game in his senior season.
